Read Rat-Race Escape!
Read Fastlane!
Read Unscripted!
Hi Everyone,
This is probably the most unfortunate timing to post an introduction on this forum. January 1st, THE day of resolutions. To be clear, this post is not a resolution in the typical sense we associate with January 1st. We all know the drill—it’s the day many people decide to abandon bad habits, only to pick them back up a few weeks later. This post is not that. For me, this is a logical next step in what began as an eye-opener a few weeks ago.
About a month ago, I discovered MJ’s book The Millionaire Fastlane . It completely changed my perspective on society. I immediately understood what MJ meant by the scripted life. How had I not seen this before? I’m 51 years old and have spent my entire life working in line with what others expected of me. But why? My job never felt fully satisfying because I didn’t always receive the appreciation or fulfilment I deserved. Is this truly what I want? The concept of time as a “precious commodity” was something I had never considered in the way it’s described in the book. Reading The Millionaire Fastlane was my first wake-up call. However, the other two books, Unscripted and The Great Rat Race Escape , made me decide to take action and turn everything around.
My biggest regret is not discovering these books earlier. Initially, I questioned whether my age would hold me back. Am I too old to make a meaningful change? But recently, I experienced an FTE. Looking back, I realize I’ve had a few of these even before reading MJ’s books. I now see the future as a journey to build the business of ‘Me’, with the concept of time, as newly defined for me, becoming a key long-term motivator.
Like the Trotman family in The Great Rat Race Escape , my goals are now clearly set. At this moment, I’m about a week into the phase of searching for a business idea. I’ve set a deadline for myself to decide within two weeks at the latest. My biggest pitfall is overanalyzing everything. By setting this deadline, I hope to overcome that. As MJ says, at some point, you just have to take action and start. I’m fully aware that success rarely comes from a single perfect idea but rather from repeated attempts.
I hope to find an inspiring environment here where I can share my experiences and where we can discuss different possible strategies. I’m looking forward to sharing my journey and learning from yours, while contributing to discussions wherever I can.
Best Regards,
RedFox
