Hi Fastlaner's. I was lucky enough to find this forum in early December and I can't stop reading it. I wish I would looked for it years ago! I decided I've been lurking long enough and needed to make an account. My name is Andrew, I am 27 years old and I Live in Maryland. I'm currently a LEO and I do enjoy the career But I have always had the desire to have my own business. I want to disconnect trading some much of my time for the money. What has really gave me the swift kick in the a$$ that I need is that I have an awesome one year old boy. He truly is a blessing but I felt like I've missed out on him growing up the last year due to working so much. I refuse to let that continue to happen as we eventually expand our family. Which leads to the giant question what do I want to do? For the last few years about this time of year I always think of starting a landscaping business for the upcoming spring. Well spring comes and goes and I have done nothing. And it still holds true that I am thinking about it again this year but i still have to trade time for $. I go back and forth with this as I would like to do it once my son gets older and I can have him work with me to build up a good work ethic.

I come from a family of side walkers. My parents liked the idea of college because they both never went and believed if you went you would automatically make more $ than someone who didn't go. There idea of life is to grow up, get a good job and stay there forever. My mother pushed me to go to community college because she never went. I was naive and believed that there was some awesome job just waiting for me if I went. After spending my own money to put me through a few years I remember sitting in class knowing that I was wasting my time and money. I had started seeing how everyone is pushed to go to college and how it is a $ maker. I didn't have the desire to go thousands into debt. And then I got into what I do now and have stuck with it for the "retirement" and benefits.

But I have the desire for more. Of course everyone wants to make millions and hell I'm right there with them. But what I really want is to not have to spend so much of my time at my full time job and to spend more time with my growing family. I have read tons of threads on here and continue to read more daily. Next step is to read TMF and then get to the insiders. One of the best things I have learned so far is that I need to provide VALUE and the $ will follow. Shortly after finding this forum and learned of Flippa. I was actually in the running for Darius's everyday hookah website that was for sale.

After I was outbid on that it really got me thinking about starting/buying a website. I've been checking Flippa daily and I recently purchased a website called bassfishingsystem.com. This is my first website ever and my first time using wordpress. It was originally an affiliate website for another product but I have yet to get the owner of the product to respond to my emails to continue the affiliate. The real reason I bought the website is because I likes the name. I would like to make it into a online store and have the suppliers drop ship the items so that it is almost fully automated. I am getting ahead of myself here but that is my plan for the website. Now I am trying to decide if i would be better off paying someone who knows what they are doing to make my website look better or if I should do it myself. Then I have to find suppliers to add to the site and go from there. Again I am new at this and am open to all suggestions.

MJ thanks for such an awesome forum!

Andrew
