I live in Minnesota where 8 months out of the year its frigid. People keep telling me its nice because we get the different seasons but I don't see how that makes up for it. I prefer hot climates where I can see open water any time I want.
I went to film school in Los Angeles which was an amazing experience where I got to devote a few years to my passion. In the end though I realized the entire industry was run by people who have no idea what they are doing. Or I should say dont care about quality and prefer the easy way to make money. Which I guess makes my first statement false since thats the best way to make money lol. It became too tough for me personally to consistently watch my dream being dumbed down so I had to drop it and change directions. It simply wasnt worth wading through the masses to move up. I have always known from a young age that I do not like working for anyone but myself (I'm currently 25). However, I work well with others as long as they are motivated and driven in some direction.
Since high school I have been big into fitness and working out. I dont know why really but I find it fun pushing my body further and further. So I figured where better then there to look for and develop a niche. There are currently two products I am developing in this industry. One is a piece of fitness equipment that is patent pending where I am currently looking for pre-production development. I have a working prototype of this but its not in the manufacturing stage yet. The other is a website that will assist people in training. I know both of those statements are vague but I'm not comfortable talking in detail about those on a publicly open forum. There are a lot of obstacles before either of those will be completed (finding a fabricator, lead web developer to partner with, etc) but its a work in progress. In the mean time, I am going to take on learning how to write copy since that really seems to be more of a creative process then I thought. Which seems a nice progression for me since I am naturally a creative/visual person.
I came across this forum after reading Millionaire Fastlane (great book!) and think now is a good time for me to become more active. Thanks for reading my welcome thread!
