Hello people,
I've just joined this forum. I have also read the Millionaire Fastlane book, and found it inspiring.
About me: I'm a software developer, living somewhere in east europe, and I'm in my late 20s. I have spent / wasted my life coding and reading technical books, at jobs usually working overtime, reading tech books when I got home, and my social life is pretty poor, but I've been living loneliness for all of my life, and I think I've gotten used to it. And I'm a slowlaner.
I wonder what I could possibly do in the future, with the knowledge & skills I have and can obtain, to go fastlane. Outside web sites, which everybody does, I figure there are pretty few areas of actual software development that a single man can actually work alone (himself), because most require a full team if you want to finish your brilliant new-idea software this century. I also have a hard time seeing possibilities for software, you know, like who would've thought games for smartphones do actually sell? (I never play, my phone is strictly for calling and sms). So perhaps if you're used to being a builder, laying brick above brick every day, you may later find it difficult to see what ordinary people could see in a building.
Anyway, I also found myself with a hobby, I'm writing a novel. My mother tongue is not English, and I've also bought (and am still reading) some novels to read to widen my vocabulary. Anyway, whether my (first) novel will have any chance or not, whether I'll get good reviews or only terrible ones, I must write and finish that novel. If I were to die tomorrow (say, in a car accident) the thing that I'd regret most would be that I haven't finished the book, and that I haven't published it.
So, well, I'm not gonna be very active on this forum, given that I've got a lot of work!
I'm curious, are there also people on this forum who have reached the fastlane? Any business people, successful people?
Samuel
