One of the biggest things I learned from TMF is that you must satisfy a need if you want to be successful. Like mj has said time and time again, its not about chasing money but rather chasing needs. So my question is, what would you do to differentiate yourself from the competition and satisfy a need if your product is the same as theirs?
Right now, I found a supplier of a popular product. This product has one major brand that dominates the market. After I import a couple samples from my supplier, I will compare the quality to the major brand. Lets assume that they are of equal quality, both in form and function. How can I establish myself as a brand and compete with this powerhouse if our products are basically identical?
Without getting too specific, this is an exercise product. The only thing I can think of to add more value than my competitor would be to include extensive information/ebooks about training routines with the product and nutrition. However, I don't think that would be enough to convince customers to buy from me (an unknown brand) over the established, trusted brand. What would you do to differentiate yourself from the competition if your products were nearly identical?
