I have a product that I believe could make homebuilders a lot of money, and set their company apart from the crowd in the marketplace. To a big homebuilder it would mean two things:
Positives
The Sales Problem
How do I get to the big CEO’s and Presidents of these multi-million dollar construction companies? I find the prospect intimidating. I know everyone puts their pants on the same way, one leg at a time, but these are titans of industry.
- How do I find these guys contact information?
- Most won’t take a cold call. (Assuming I can get through…)
- Some of these companies don’t even have their CEO or President on their website. (I don’t even have a name to start with)
- Mail proposals?
- Email sales people who are the only people with their contact info listed. (I feel I need to reach the top)
There are about 6 big builders in my area, and a 1000 small builders. I would need just one of the big 6 to commit to this and it would turn my company into a million dollar business.
How do I reach the top?
Sidenote: I’m from Canada and housing is starting to pick up again. The industry built about 48,000 new homes this year, and 2000 house starts this month alone. It’s been a lot slower for the last couple years, but nothing like what America has gone through.

- Huge marketing advantage. People would choose their house over others. They would be first and get a ton of free press and innovation recognition.
- The builder could make money.
- There would be an added cost to the builder or homeowner. Again I believe the buyer would want to pay for this, and could be the deciding factor when choosing a home. The cost of the product is $5000 which when buying home is not that big of deal.
