This is how I turned my home into a rental property and had a lease signed in 24 hours.
I see a lot of people asking the question on this forum with how to get started with rental properties, how to turn their house into a rental, and how to start acquiring rental properties.
As a disclaimer, being a land lord is not for everyone. I thoroughly enjoy it but some personality type may not. You are providing a service, so if customer service is not your thing maybe renting properties isn't for you.
In my case, I got started with real estate by turning my house into a rental. This could be good for a lot of people. I know individuals who rented out their house and used that income to supplement renting from someone else. At least in this scenario you are not completely throwing money away and you are getting started in learning to invest and getting business experience.
What ever your reason for wanting to do this, I hope that my article gets you closer to a solution.
