Hey guys, just trying to see what 'rules' other people go by when pursuing their goals.
I'm feeling a little.. Demotivated isn't quite the word, apprehensive perhaps, about my ambitions and plans. I guess in part it's a case of the 'what ifs', coupled with the 'maybe I should keep to what I know inside and out and am good at'.
Whilst I get things in place, I started two other ventures to fill the time where I can't pursuit my business. One which will tie into my business, and the other which is a totally different route and was started to experiment with website building, learning about hosting and domains etc and as far as that's concerned, it's been a big personal success that I'm still learning from in that sense, but in terms of revenue, it's been limited.
I know I've got to keep promoting and innovating, I'm fortunate in that I earn a good enough wage and the costs are very low, get more traffic and more conversions. It's only been live for 3 months or so, ads boost sales periodically, healthy following on the usual channels (FB, IG) etc. It's in another interlull and conversion rates are quite low, so am starting a new campaign as well as figuring out why there is low conversion etc.
I've gone off on a ramble, so I'll get to my point/question which is, at what point of struggling for sales or profit do you / have you in the past decided to move away from a venture and write it off as experience before moving on?
I'm not saying I'm at that point yet at all; I'm still enjoying experimenting; but I do wonder, how do I identify I'm getting to that point? If not for this venture, for when my full time business kicks off?
Part of this arises from impatience with transitioning, I've gone from loving my job to hating/being extremely bored with being in the professional services sector, and have spent all day musing, and it's made me realise that I need to be looking forwards to ensure that I don't wind up back here again.
