Just stumbled on this video today and want to share it with you guys. This might be some entertainment program, but still, it is on BBC and this is a good example of mechanics how they shift viewers attention in order to give you a perspective they want.
I will add the video at the end of this post, but long story short it is how 1 lion fights a bunch of hyenas and has no chance until a second lion comes to help him.
My immediate concern was:
1. Why hyenas tried to attach a lion even though they had strength in numbers, while they could choose any easier prey with less fighting back.
2. This could only happen if they are fighting for food.
It was all clever montage but still, they made some mistakes, at 2:36 you see some piece of meat laying around which could be actual reason for the fighting.
Now the pivotal moment of the story is then the second lion comes in for the rescue and our hero starts to thank him. But we never actually see both lions fighting together in one frame.
It is old news that media is manipulative, but what do you guys think about this video
