Hey,
Been a while since I posted on here. Been working my socks off, every minute I have to get my product ready. I thought it would be ready by Easter.. Ha!.... maybe July now.. not crossing my fingers on an actual date.
Anyway.. my business is offering online science courses. A market which I know there is a lot of free (not very good) content out there. And I have quite a few things that really (hopefully) set me apart.
What I need to do now, before I launch the product is garner some interest. Which is something I have always found to be incredibly challenging. I have many skills, this is one I lack in.
What is also important too is that I don't sink all my time into marketing right now as doing so will prevent me developing my course. Which defeats the whole point of marketing. So I am aiming for a slow burn right now.
At the moment I am doing the following things.
1) Building a Facebook page.
Every day I post an image with 3 facts about science on this day in history.
Two or three times a week I post a "happy birthday" image for a scientist outlining their achievements (they can be dead or alive)
Most importantly one a week or so, I post a full science lesson. These are the basic introduction lessons. They each last about ten minutes.
2) Once these are posted to my page I post them to about 30-40 different pages, that are relevant.
3) I have a Youtube page (monetized of course) which I have nothing on as of yet, but when I have the first five lessons posted to Facebook, I will upload them to Youtube as a series, each video with an outro to link to the next video.
4) Every thing I post I also provide a link to my website www.makescienceeasy.com (which is pretty much a placeholder at the moment) where people can sign up for a free e-book. In exchange for an email address which they need to verify.
5) I will be putting together a Tumblr and a Twitter page, but everything takes time.
What I don't want to do just yet is pay for exposure, I don't have an actual product ready to sell yet, so paying to get interest seems counter productive to me at least, maybe later down the line.
I am accumulating page likes at a slow but steady rate, and am gradually getting more shares etc.
But what else should I be doing to "get myself" out there?
Thanks!
