Recently I started working at the company that for some years have been selling travel tours online, but now opened a local booking office with me as the only employee (my position is salesman/ cusomer service).
At the beginning, it seemed to be like a good opportunity to work in a company as first employee, but with some time I realized that the owners are not really understanding how to run this business properly.
It's been more than a month since the office opened and I still haven't got a work phone, there is no proper lighting at the office and little or no effort spend to make the place attractive for customers. Besides me sending email reminders of the things need to be done, I hardly hear or see the owners during the week.
Because there is little going on at the office, I had to come up with my own tasks so the time would go faster.
Don't get me wrong, most of the time I spend on building company's online appearance (which is as bad as local). Also have tried to design and put posters on the windows with some special offers to attract random people from the street.
I love to work in entrepreneur background, but on the other I am discouraged by the fact that this company is not taking management seriously.
What do you think about owner's behavior and what would you do in my case?
