Question was asked of me by a friend of a friend last week and it's been bugging me.
I had said half jokingly at the time (not taking him super seriously) "sell your junk on Ebay/wherever and get on Upwork or be good at poker."
What's been bugging me is, thinking back I think it might have been a real question, in the sense of he might have been asking for help and I blew this dude off with barely a half assed answer. The above is literally what I told the guy.
He's gonna be at some get together next week and I wanted to give the guy a proper answer. Is there anything I should mention other than upwork?
Basically gonna tell the guy, focus on a thing (like upwork) find something you can do, whether it's writing copy or CVs or business and basic business practice. Provide a better service at a better value, market and work your arse off.
I don't owe this guy sh!t, but it's been bugging me enough to post here. He's a nice dude and just needs to be pointed in the right direction. I'd like to do that for him.
ETA: I don't "make money online" not my business. Use teh webz but not in this way, that's why I decided to ask for advice.
