Less than a year ago, i noticed a small barbecue restaurant called "Rude Hawgs" opened next to the gym I go to. The location was a small strip mall on an intersection in the middle of a suburb. The intersection isn't very busy, but there are neighborhoods and apartments nearby.
After they opened I noticed little picket signs advertising the business (which apparently had 2 locations) scattered around the area.
I never ate there so I don't know how the food or menu was but after only about 6 months, Rude Hawgs closed down.
Now, in the same exact spot, ANOTHER barbecue restaurant is opening in a week called Smokin' Joe's. This seemed to me like a terrible idea for them to open up in the same place as Rude Hawgs after it had gone out of business so quickly.
So my question is, how would you make Smokin' Joe's successful?
2 conditions:
Assume the first restaurant (Rude Hawgs) went out of business because it couldn't attract enough customers, not because of mismanaging money or anything like that.
Smokin' Joe's menu is basically the same as Rude Hawg's was (I'm sure it is anyway)
