I've made a huge mistake. I've done a promo for my new amazon product and then it got viral real quick.
The sales in the amazon seller dashboard was not accurate. It was very misleading. It showed NO promo sales and showed tons of regular sales (with the regular price). I was happy at first! I've made 1,000, 3,000, 5,000! But then it got viral real quick and sold ALL of my inventory. I made $18,000+ in less than 8 hours! I knew something was wrong.
I tried to contact support. Then they told me all of the sales used the coupon code (for only $1 a pop)! I was shocked. All of my inventory, GONE. In less than 8 hours.
So I tried to asked for help from the Amazon support staff. They tried to cancel the orders and end up cancelling 100 pieces. But my total inventory is around 1000, so there's still so much to recover.
After 10 stressful hours, it's still not fixed. I tried to talk to multiple support staff convincing me that they're "trying" to fix the problem. Now, I'm losing hope and just trying to learn from this experience.
I wonder if anyone here had a similar experience? How did you handle this situation?
This is surely heartbreaking but I learned a huge lesson today. I'm going to wake up to another day and start over.
