Hello everyone!
I'm writing this post to celebrate my first sale. Maybe for some of you, this is a small achievement, but it’s my first sale ever, and I’m incredibly excited about it! This is my first SaaS, and it’s also the first time I’ve tried to sell something online that I built entirely on my own.
Long story short: I’m an AI Engineer working for a big tech company in Europe. During a lunch with some colleagues from South America, I started noticing a pattern. They found it difficult to land tech jobs in Europe, and LinkedIn wasn’t cutting it for them for various reasons. So, I decided to take action. Here’s what I did:
1. Created a landing page with an email form and ran some Google Ads. I got 200 users.
2. Started building the MVP with the minimum features needed to offer value to potential customers. Even though I knew Python, I had to learn everything else from scratch (frontend, AWS, integrating Stripe API, etc.).
4. Gathered feedback and iterated on it by fixing layouts, bugs, and more.
5. Once I had a stable version of the product, I began sending cold emails to my waiting list. And guess what? In less than 6 minutes (no joke), I got my first customers!
All these steps took some time because I’ve been working on this project after my full-time job and on weekends, so I didn’t have the luxury of dedicating entire days to it. But while working on this project, I organized the code such a way to make my life easier for next developments of new ideas.
What did I learn? Something that everyone knows but is often overlooked, especially by tech people:
PUT THE TECH ASIDE, TALK TO CUSTOMERS, AND REALLY LISTEN TO THEM. UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY WANT. BE ALTRUISTIC.
Below is a screenshot of my first appointment. I also want to give a shoutout to @Andy Black —I learned how to run Google Ads campaigns to validate business ideas from your content. You opened up a whole new world for me! Thanks for @MJ DeMarco , without your forum I'd never being able to do what I've done so far.
If you want to see the entire process in detail, here’s my thread:

Thanks for reading, and cheers to more milestones ahead!
