So for the past year I've been posting content on YouTube related to my journey in martial arts. I've managed to grow quite a bit and get some videos to blow up (4-5k views). The issue that I've found is making a business out of it. I'm going to be real: I'm not qualified to be teaching anything related to martial arts. I'm still fairly new (only a couple years) & I don't see a potential business idea created out of it.
So for the past month I've decided to forget making my channel into a business & more into something just for fun. But I decided last week to experiment a little bit. One thing I'm passionate about is the UFC. I've watched so many PPVS, free fights on YouTube, studied different fighters etc. I see on YouTube different guys that make different video ideas about the UFC (Hoppermma, TJlovefights, Mario Rios). For example, the top 10 UFC welterweights, or why GSP is the goat. I decided to go the controversial route, and made a video called "Why Belal Muhammad is the best UFC Fighter). I'm going to be frank, I didn't put as much effort in the video as I could. However, this video jumped in views and I ended up getting over 800 views (which is good for a smaller channel like mine). I was thinking, what if instead of me making videos talking about myself (which lets be real no gives a shit), I ended up making videos talking about the UFC implementing my own unique personality. I think using bigger names & current topics in the UFC could result in me growing exponentially. This growth could lead me getting monetized & making decent money off of Adsense, & I could even get some sort of sponsor.
Now there are a couple problems with this. One is there is a low barrier of entry, so I would have to niche down & for example just talk about a couple fighters. Also, this technically is not helping other people which contradicts the teachings of the millionaire fastlane . One thing I can do is focus on making my videos educational so they're technically benefitting people who want to learn more about the UFC.
Either way I've prepared some new videos that I put in way more effort compared to my last one, I want to just take action & see where this can go. I'm just curious in your guys opinion if this is something that I could make into a legit business.
