I hate routine.

The 5 day death cycle.

Where creativity dies and compliance kicks in.

It's always the same thing isn't it?

5 days of being a cog, for 2 days of living your life. A cog in a machine created by someone with the bravery to stand up and say follow me.

Day in, day out. Week after week. Year after year.

Over and over and over and over and over.... Routine. Compliance. Fit in. Be like the rest.

Wake up, commute, do what your boss says, question nothing, commute home, sleep. Rinse and repeat.

Over and over again, for 40 years (if you’re lucky). Let's not forget the 15 years of forced education to indoctrinate us to comply with the bull shit above, taught to be a cog, instead of focused education on our passions. A vicious cycle that sucks the creativity out of people, and feeds it tasty morsels of obedience, with strict punishment for straying off the path.

Be like the rest! Beaten into us over and over again through childhood. Which inevitably results in a lifelong commitment to mediocrity.

For 5 straight days. over and over and over and over and over......

For your entire life. Well, maybe just maybe, you can make it to retirement, your golden years, where you can finally enjoy your life, do the things you ever wanted to do. If you can still do them.

For 5 straight days. over and over and over and over and over...... The same thing, day in day out. For life.

Yet most of us never question this.

We just accept it. Why? Most people answer with, 'because that's life'. It's what mom and dad did. It's what were told to do. It's what everyone else is doing.

Really!? That's the purpose of our lives? To be like the rest?

I doubt the universe had this in mind when it was created 13.8 BILLION years ago.

It has given us the ability to do basically anything we want to do with our lives, with the very short time we have.

Yet we all just comply to this bull shit that was bread into us at childhood.

It's a shame what happened to most of our child minds, the child that thought anything was possible. But sadly, over the years the child was silenced slowly. Stolen from our mind by a system put in place to make us comply, fit in, be like the rest.

A sad thought indeed. Very few of our child minds seem to make it through the chaos of compliancy that is formal education.

But, every now and then, some child minds break through the barriers and wonders occur. Their child mind says F you to the system, and ends up creating a billion dollar website, or a song that the whole world hears, or a book that spreads across generations, or a mind that creates electricity, or a woman that creates a movement. The list goes on, women and men throughout time, accomplishing wonders. Defying the system. Challenging the status quo.

These are the ones that truly live.

....

And then there's us. The rest.

We all long for the weekend. We all long for 5pm to roll around. We all long for that vacation. We all long to retire. We all long for instant riches by means of a 2 dollar ticket. In hopes to break free from the system in which we agreed to be a part of.

Yet we don't do anything about it.

We just end up doing the same shit over and over and over and over.... day in day out. Robots we are. Cogs.

I hate routine.

It's always the same destination, the same route, the same inevitable ending....

Mediocrity.
