I was recently turned onto Michael Lewis from listening to Dan over at TropicalMBA.
After finishing Boomerang there a few major takeaways:
1.) The fast lane is the only way to go
You cannot rely on your government, pension, 401k, etc for anything. Spend your capital (money & time) creating revenue generating assets that will last you a lifetime.
2.) We will all see radical change during our lifetime
I think the internet's impact on global financial markets / local economies / etc is something that can't quite be quantified or measured. Too much shit happening at once.
There will be more collapses and other nations will rise above.
3.) Most people don't understand what's happening
In America we live a life of total convenience. Everything is there for us. We're blind to what happens elsewhere, relying on silly traditional media and buzzfeed for education.
This is scary.
