PARKED
I would really appreciate if somebody would recommend a good book or books on time management, organizational skills, prioritizing and stuff like that.
I've had issues with this my whole life. I'd start doing something, other things get in the way add lack of time, commitment and/or motivation and I always give up slacking or giving up.
This issue has gotten more serious recently because I've gotten into some financial difficulties which pushed me to work more and have even less time for anything else. I want to get out of this rat race but as I mentioned in one of my previous posts, my wife is having some health issues and she's unable to work which left all the responsibility of supporting the family to me.
I was never really good with money management but that's rapidly changing and it feels like my situation is a blessing in disguise because I'm forced to learn to manage my money better. I've tried downsizing as much as possible, but it still doesn't seem to be enough which doesn't make any sense to me! I stopped paying my credit cards and I'm going to file for bankruptcy, we both got rid of our cars, no more car insurance, parking, tickets. We don't have cable TV, so the only bills are our rent, gas and electric, internet and cell phone. I also quit smoking few months ago. the only thing I'm not trying and will not try to save money on is food. My health matters and we spend a lot on groceries but I'm not looking to change that.
I really expected that by lowering our bills we will have more money and we'd be able to save more or at least I would have more time to focus and try to pursue my goals and ideas. However, I still work up to 80 hours a week and our standard of living hasn't improved much if at all!
I'm starting to realize that things are not going to change any time soon. I'm not going to have free time anytime soon. I need to organize my time and my life and try to use a little free time that I have to focus on ways to improve my life.
I have a few hours to spare every day, I take days off here and there, I just need to find the way to get the most out of those few hours. any advice or book recommendation is welcome!
sorry for the long post, I just wanted to give you all general idea of what am I dealing with here so you could hopefully point me in the right direction.
thank you
