I think I have finally come up with an idea for a plan!!!!!
It is something that I can not believe I overlooked for so long. It fits near everything that is talked about here, but more importantly has the possibility to impact millions of people that need help! Just today I was reading an article that said there are approximately 100 million people living in the US alone that currently deal with this problem and approximately 80 million of those don't have an answer! I am one of them so I know EXACTLY what is going on in their heads.
The problem is that most of the content on the web about this issue is written by people that have never experienced it. The rest of it is just a bunch of crap written by people trying to get us to buy something.
I have been doing research on the topic for years trying to come up with a solution for myself and have been extremely frustrated in my findings. I thought of a tool today that would he incredibly. I want to create the tool and then a community around the tool. Much like fitday.
I have a vison of the entire site in my mind. It would be everything that I have been looking for that I can't find. In the end it would be a combination of a community with a tool like fitday, and eventually a mobile app to make it even easier.
I would really appreciate a favor from anyone that knows websites and programs (I think).
1) How difficult and expensive would it be to create a site exactly like this one. The topic would of course be very different, but I would need a forum, articles section etc.. I checked out vbulletin and got the pricing for a forum, but I have very limited knowledge in the rest and need fairly accurate estimates to see if I can pull this off. If at all possible I would like to build it myself.
2) Please check out FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal and tell me what it is. I would assume its a program (told ya I didn't know anything) but I would need something very similar. I want to know if this is something that could be pulled off relatively cheap or if I am looking at big bucks.
