I have a full-time job with a 1 hour commute each-way, and I just recently bought a janitorial service company.
My goal is to get this business to generate $8,000/month take-home while only requiring 1 day/week of my time within the next 12 months. That's about two times what it's making right now and the business was being very poorly run, so I have A LOT of work to do to get it there.
Yesterday I left my home at 6:30am, was at work until 5pm, then went to client account #1, my biggest account by far, to fix their floors. I was there stripping and buffing tile with a worker until 11pm.
Then I had to go across town to clean another account. They were unhappy and I had to let the employee go - I won't have someone new in there until Friday, so I'm cleaning it myself. I scrubbed toilets for hours, and didn't walk in my house until 2:30am.
I woke up for work at 6am this morning and will be doing it again today/tomorrow.
So in a year when someone tells me how lucky I am to have a passive business, I'll just have to laugh
