As an east cost-based consultant, my dream would be to always have a place to squat and chat with clients and colleagues during time away from the office. The reality is that places like Starbucks / Dunkin, etc. (particularly in DC) are teeming with customers, and even if there were open seats the chaos makes conversation pretty difficult. This makes me wonder; could there be potential demand behind a coffee shop chain focused on crafting an environment suitable for 1-1 conversations? Through customer flow management (a reservation system), a volume-controlled room with ambient lighting and table service, would it attract a subset of coffee drinkers looking for their own pseudo-private nook for business conversations, coaching, etc.? These questions are mostly rhetorical - just hoping to trigger some thoughts.
