I have a commercial idea for a popular TV show. It would drive viewership organically by social networking, loyalty, and participation as well as benefit another popular industry. Plenty of revenue opportunities.
It would probably be a licensing deal but a little more integral than just licensing a brand and producing a product w/ a logo. The show company seems pretty liberal in its licensing so that's good but this idea would take a bit more cooperation as the idea would probably require the show to have some programming involvement to make it huge. I think it is a no brainer for the show to get involved as it would be a natural show idea extension relevant to the content.
Anyone have experience w/ pitching a concept and protecting it? Know of some good resources online for a prelim study on that area? Any IP licensing/legal forums?
I'd like to read up on it a bit before approaching an entertainment lawyer devil
