Consider this a cry for help guys. I need advice regarding marketing our services. I don't know where to start and I feel like I'm spinning my wheels.
Here's the summary;
We build manufactured homes and move them to our client's sites. We also install basements, all mechanical (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), connect the homes to sewer & water systems etc. It is a turnkey service we provide. We don't own/purchase the land/lot. We are hired directly by our clients.
The market is Southeast Saskatchewan. Since 2007-2008, it's been a very busy area due to the Bakken oil patch. Most capable trades dropped their hammers and hopped on an oil rig (stable income, good benefits, good money, etc). This left a void of trades and an increased demand for housing (due to an influx of people moving into the area to work in the patch).
With oil currently sitting at $42/bbl, things aren't as hot in our market as they were 18 months ago when the barrel was over $100.
Not everyone relies on oil for income in that corner of the province - the agricultural industry is strong, and there is a huge coal fired generating station nearby. There is still a void in the residential construction market. The alternative is manufactured housing, as having trades from out of province stay there for 6 months (typical onsite build timeline) is expensive. We build homes in Southern Manitoba (where labour and materials are more reasonable) and transport the finished home to SE SK. The savings offset the transportation costs.
Here's where I need help. All of our work to date has come in via word of mouth. We have very happy customers and a very good reputation in our market. I'm reminded of the quote "It doesn't matter how great your product is if your customers don't know that is exists."
We have a website. It probably needs work (I built it via Weebly). We have a Facebook page. It's decent but I have no idea what I'm doing. We've tried an Adwords campaign, but the results sucked. Probably due to poor copy and me shooting from the hip. Honestly the best results we've had to date have been with Facebook.
The message I want to convey to our potential clients is that we provide a low stress, enjoyable building experience. We finish what we start (uncommon in the area). We truly do offer a better build experience than what our competition offers. We add a ton of value in that we offer a turnkey build. There are VERY few turnkey builders in the region.
