Impact Differential, horsepower and age

Hi,

I have just finished reading Chapter 23 of The Millionaire Fastlane .

I explains about how the choices we make lead us to the places we are now. MJ wrote that the older you get the harder it is to gain horsepower to alter your path.

This has me thinking because I am 39 and only in the last 2 years have I started to understand why I am where I am and how I don't want things to stay this way for me.

So only for a couple of years have I started trying to alter my path from where it is now to a better one.

I have little money, no assets and pretty much feel the time before has been wasted. Which is why I have been trying to change the way I think and do things in order to realize my goals.

My question is:

If there is less horsepower as we get older does that mean as a 39 year old man I have missed my chance?

I am really trying hard to change.

Have I misunderstood the chapter?

Can someone put me straight on this information please.
