include affiliate info in your emails to potential customers?

i'm undergoing another phase change in my business. it involves a conversion to a complete pay service. in my email to current "free subscribers" i will mention that they will be entitled to an X% discount (not available to the public)

i'm also debating if i should mention the affiliate program offered. will this be counter productive or should it be included?

i will have a link on the site itself, but i'm curious how this route could, if at all, affect the business.
