I have previously introduced myself so I'll just get straight to the point this time. As you can tell from the title I am 17 years old and I currently have no form of income. It's amazing how I have applied for retail jobs like most 17 years old have and they have gotten back to me 3 months later only to get an attitude with me when I say im not interested anymore. What does that say about how they would value me as a worker? That tells me im nothing but someone to fill in days and times no one else wants to work. I refuse to be that person. Secondly, I am actually pretty skilled in terms of tech repairs, the problem is most places don't want to hire a 17 year old. I have gotten multiple job interviews from tech repairs stores that always tell me they will get back to me when they need someone (of course they never do), so now I am at the point where I am considering starting my own repair shop out of my house but I am stuck in the start up phase. For anybody on the forums who has had success in this field, how would you recommend I market myself and my repairs? One thing I am focused on is convenience, one thing I've realized is that 90% of tech repair stores have horrible hours and close relatively early. I'd like to be working all day 7 days a week, this will attract more customers and create more income. One of the great things about my age is I really do not need as much income as say someone who quits their job to join the fast lane. I'd like to start in the fast lane and never even get near the slow lane or sidewalk. Too many people my age are already locked into jobs with monthly payments and probably will spend the next 10 years working retail before they wake up. By the time you're 20 years old you can clearly see what MJ is talking about in terms of the fastlane, slowlane, and sidewalk. Thanks for reading guys.
