All this Facebook acquiring whatsapp talk has made me doubt industrial multipliers and business valuations.
How do these big corporations like yahoo, google and Facebook decide valuations.
19b$ is a lot for a company that doesn't make even $500,000,000.
Even instagram was bought for 1b$ and had no revenue, I assume huge losses for running it though.
I know the saying "its worth what someone is willing to pay for it" but a line has to be drawn.
How much would a business based online that does 10,000,000$ revenue (not profit) selling product be worth.
It seems as if most tech companies get valued on number of users basis.
But what if the the online business that just had customers and product.
