Guys, after watching Sal on the Shark Tank, I though it would be a great thing to put together a Fastlane shark tank.
Obviously we can not call it shark tank.
and the Idea is still Germinating.
BUT
I thought I would share the Gist of it.
there are a couple investors on this forum, and some who have contacts, and some with skills, and experience.
I think it would be a cool thing to get the savvy and sophisticated of the forum together, 1 or 2 times a year, and hear pitches from the young up and comers.
Pitches that may need money, or help, or mentoring or experience.
create a space for pitches (that we solicit) and see what the forum can do.
We would could also bring in additional Angels That I know, and deal with.
Perhaps a PRE BnP or Capitalism and Bacon Post Game type event.
Creating a space that can help the Sal's of the forum the people that execute, those seeking help, TO either launch or take the business up faster. I have seen what can happen when you bring to bear expertise, money, contacts and brainpower.
This is not an event happening now,
This is a process, that will take a while to take form, flesh out, and launch.
I have committed to making NO NEW INVESTMENTS this year (2014) due to the fact that I am heavily focused on our current business.
However, this would allow me to start fleshing out some of the ideas with the forum members, and develop it over the next year or so. possible launch date april 1st 2015 (maybe the 2nd for the jokers here)
Guys, I welcome an open discussion, Some thought put into this. and some honest feedback. I was thinking about this last month, and creating something like SHARK X, (ted X version of the shark tank) purely with angel investors around the country, Garnering interests from some of the TV shows, would be fun, but Maybe we could start here.
the Genesis of Shark X could be in these very discussions.
Imagine a traveling shark tank, with local Angel investors looking at real deals.
The World is changing with raising money, and with the public begging for more shark tank, or Dragons Den, I think we could Capitalize on exactly that, utilize the airing of the show, to help drive demand (see the Shark Tank Effect, or just ask Sal,) expose more investors, see more crazy opportunities, or just good ideas to come.
in any case, lets have at it.
and thank you Sal, for inspiring me to take the "Barracuda Pond" more serious, and start to give it real thought.
