International Language Differences - Western Countries

I cannot help but notice that there are quite a few differences between various countries such as between Australia, US & UK.

Here is a few from the US that took me a while to get used to but feel free to add your list which may help when dealing with other Western countries:

1. mm/dd/yr instead of dd/mm/yr
2. inquiry instead of enquiry
3. gas instead of petrol
4. mom instead on mum
5. loose instead of lose

Probably a lot more but can't think of any others at the moment.

Do you stumble across any words, meanings in your daily interactions with other Western countries that seem out of place but is actually correct for that country?
