Hello Fast-Laners!
A little introduction for anyone interested...
I'm 39, currently working in IT administration in the slow lane, and ready to join the fast lane.
I've dabbled in entrepreneurial ventures since I was 18, but none of them worked out for me, and I admittedly, didn't know what I was doing. I'd try one idea, get bored/frustrated with it, then move to the next. I'm sure I'm not the only one on here that has been down that road.
Here's a brief rundown about me.
I've always been an ambitious dude, but I've made dumb choices over the last couple of decades, and I just haven't gotten to where I want to be in my professional life. Marriage/kids are excellent, but professionally I'm so freakin unfulfilled and frustrated. Not looking for therapy, just venting.
I'm pretty hard on myself that I haven't accomplished what many of the other 20 somethings have on this forum. I was 18 one day, then woke up and I'm 39. I was supposed to "have it all" by now. Aaaaany way...
Here are just some images of what keeps me motivated to escape that rat race. They are depictions of what I would like to have for my family and I.
A little cheesy, I know, but these images are my motivation. Each one of them carries meaning to me. I have other "whys" as well, but none I'm willing to list here.
I can't say I know exactly HOW I'm going to join the fast lane yet, but I'm scouring this forum like I never have and am ready to get serious. I have other question and topics for discussion, but I'll save those for other threads.
When I actually get my plan in order, I'll start a progress thread, like many others have invaluably done.
Thanks MJ, for approving me, and I'm HUMBLED to be in such great company here on this forum!

Here's a brief rundown about me.
- Grew up playing baseball, was a really good pitcher, wanted to make it to the bigs, but only got one year into college ball before the dream fizzled out. Quit baseball 2 days after the 9-11 tragedy.
- Got 2 degrees in college, 1 in professional aviation, another in IT/web development... (crazy, I know).
- Currently working in IT administration.
- Dabbled in so many "business ventures" that I'm embarrassed to even list them all.
- Married my high-school sweetheart, have 2 boys.
- Currently working in IT administration, and sick as can be of trading my life for dollars.
