Hi guys,
Finally introducing myself here. My name is Robin, 29, from The Netherlands. (Are there other Dutch guys/gals here?) About five years ago I decided I wanted to be an (online) entrepreneur. However, my family, the people around me were Slowlane drivers. So naturally, I followed that path, although I did start my web design company in the form of going to the chamber of commerce.
Because of my slowlane environment, I eventually found a job as an online marketer, and my second job as an online marketer after that.
Fast forward 4 years and I only did like, 3 of 4 paid websites for clients. I thought to myself, I really need to start finding clients and grow the business. I’m still at my second online marketer job, learned a lot, managed to buy a house on that contract, so ‘all good’. Because I wanted to grow the business, I started looking on Facebook for groups that could help me find likeminded people. Eventually I found @Fox his Facebook page How to make money with web design. He talked a lot about this topic on Reddit and also about The Fastlane.
Made an account on this forum, read for 5 minutes and couldn’t get used to the lay-out so I closed the site, only to look at it again one week ago.
I had a really exhausting last two years and about two months ago I was close to a burn-out. I booked a holiday for with my (very supporting) GF. I decided I needed to get a rest and grow back my lost motivation. I bought a fair amount of books, including The Milionaire Fastlane. Had I known it was THAT good, I would’ve ordered Unscripted with it. It completely changed my view on how I look at the future. Also about how I look at my business.
When I get back home I will make a lot of changes. My goal is to become financially independent, just like everybody said I would not achieve.
My business needs a revamp, I only do websites as a freelancer, with €3.500 being the highest selling project, but the majority is around 800. I realize now that that ain’t the way to get financially independent.
I plan on staying at this 9-5 job for now, but on the side I will dedicate all of my time to the business, working towards the Fastlane and towards that one big exit.
Cheers for now, my DM is open if anyone wants to connect that is in a similar situation as I am. I will try to become a lot more active here, already read some GOLD stuff.
