Hello Producers and Creators,
Happy New Year to everyone, I hope you all have as good of a 2025 as mine will be.
I'm Ethan, 22, from Australia. I've just recently discovered the Millionaire Fastlane book, and I don't think I've ever read anything that resonated this much with me. I've always had a similar mindset and goals to what's described in the book but due to the limited financial knowledge of my family and close friends I've never thought too much into it and simply tried to fit in (which unsurprisingly has led to a very unfulfilling career and life so far). Since reading the book (some chapters multiple times back to back lol) I've been spending almost every free hour of my time brainstorming ideas and doing market research.
I've determined through reflection on my education and studies that I'm subconsciously quite a perfectionist and struggle to 'settle'. I generally work until I cannot see any more problems on or with my work, and I'm not necessarily worried about that overall - I believe it is what separates me from the more basic people around me (respectfully, in terms of personal achievements and work), but I am questioning if it is affecting my ability to 'push my car to the redline'. If I am being completely honest with myself I believe I already know the answer, but I would like to hear the opinions of people with real experience with generating ideas and starting businesses.
I have had a couple of ideas that follow the fastlane commandments and appear to have potential, but due to my 'perfectionist' attitude I begin to analyse and criticise them, probably too deeply, until I find an issue with them. Should I be more focused on starting the first idea I have that follows the right path or am I right to be analysing them deeply on paper. I would like to hear from people that have similar stories, and how you have progressed since.
I would also like to take this opportunity to ask for additional book recommendations to add to my ever-expanding 'next reads'. Books that are informative and non-fiction is the only requirement, I am open to learning more about anything, especially if the book has had a positive impact on you or someone you know.
I am also happy to discuss the potential ideas with anyone interested (although they are mostly quite surface level).
Thank you to everyone that has read this and thank you in advance to anyone that replies.
