Hey guys & gals, my name is Steve Myers and I'm 54 years old. I live in Pennsylvania here in the US. I'm in the rat race now looking to exit. Better late than never right. How am I going to do that, I haven't figured that part out yet.
I was in a pretty horrific car accident 11 years ago. I woke up in a trauma unit after being flown there by helicopter. I've always been into health & fitness and I loved trail running so when I woke up in the trauma unit and my surgeon was standing next to my bed stating to me "I hear you're a runner, well your running days are over. Both of your heels were crushed and need to be reconstructed." That was like having my heart ripped out. And that was even before discovering I suffered 27 broken bones in the accident and would need to undergo several surgery's.
So anyways I've been wanting to share my story through a book and thought that may be an avenue for a start out of the rat race. I'm not getting any younger. Oh and just to let you know he (the surgeon) was wrong. I not only run but I compete at a competitive level in obstacle course racing. I've completed Ultra Beast's that were 30 plus miles that took me 14 hours to complete so hopefully that will make for a worthy book to share to inspire and motivate people.
