Introduction

Hello @MJ DeMarco and everyone!
I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself and share a little! My name is Reuben and I'm 23 from Brisbane, Australia. I served in the Royal Australian Navy and currently work as a postal delivery driver, I love my job but I knew there's more to life than the monday to friday life I'd been led to believe. I started reading books and listening to audio books and got excited at the idea of not having to work out of necessity. But then I stumbled across this one book, 'The Millionare Fastlane.' I'd never heard of it before. Everywhere, everyone talks about Robert Kiyosaki or Napoloen Hill or all these other big shots but I'd never heard of Mr. Demarco. By the end of the first few chapters I had an entirely different mindset on freedom. I'd been led to believe that time was forever and I had forever to amass wealth, save 10% blah blah blah. But when I read 'trading five days of labor for two days of freedom' my mindset was flipped upside down. I WANT TO LIVE! I want the Three F's, and dammit I want it now. Not later, when I'm too old to enjoy life. NOW. I know it'll be a hard slog but that sacrifice is worth the freedom I'll buy in the future.
I'm excited to get to know you all and read all your stories of success, as well as share my own in the near future.

Great to be here! The plan's in early stages. So far I've outlined step one which is: Educate myself on financial literacy, read read and read. Listen to podcasts and audio books, continue to absorb information from other successful people, their stories. Find like-minded individuals who are goal focused, driven by ideas and execution of those ideas. This forum has been an excellent start in learning from others and hearing other peoples stories, I'm next looking at in person interactions with entrepeneurs to network and possibly find someone to mentor me in my journey.
Like you said in your book 'The Millionaire Fastlane ' "Ideas without execution are just mental farts" or something to that effect. So next is educating and training myself (further) on becoming a producer of a product, service etc and picking up on solutions to other peoples problems, or taking someone elses idea and doing it better.
I think my biggest challenge currently is networking with other people and finding likeminded individuals who produce tail-wind and don't hold me back. I love my friends and they're heaps of fun but damn they can be real killjoys.
