Living in the U.S. has left me with the impression that iPhones are the cool 1%center smartphone while androids are for the poor peasants.
Market share statistics appear to corroborate that mindset with androids at around 80% and iphones at 14%.

Most real iPhones are sold in first world western nations and the US, while androids are saturating the third world.
However even with these numbers iPhone apps have always had more revenue vs android apps, but for how long?

The indian market is set to explode in the near future and surpass the U.S., with china already bigger.

As an independent app game developer these numbers are making me wonder whether I should eventually just dump iOS as a platform and fully focus on emerging Android markets for my games, would it be the smarter long term choice for a small developer like me?
Instead of working on an iOS version i can focus on android localization and becoming more culturally aware of foreign markets so my games appear more appealing.
For example, regarding the Indian market, i could make an infinite runner involving Hindu gods... or make an app about Buddhism.
It just seems to me that lucrative greener pastures are located in the emerging economies of the third world, while trying to break through in the U.S. may be a fool's errand.
