Hello everyone who gets to read this. Hope you are doing well. Be as tough love as possible would enjoy some feedback. Thank you.

Overarching questions:
1. How did you balance family, school/college, and growing/starting your business when you were starting off?
I've read from a lot of late nights to working on stuff whenever they got the chance. However, this is something I want to pursue now and stop putting it off like I've been doing.
2. How do I make my family proud but also follow the journey I want at the same time?
I know that many hardcore entrepreneur "gurus" on YouTube make it out to something that they completely cut off from family to pursue their business endeavors but how did you guys do it in that sense?
3. Do you find it more productive to do the entrepreneurship journey alone or be a part of a community such as this one where you held yourself accountable?
It could have also been with friends. It's been since I've made any new ones and the ones I do have are more interested in college than starting a business.

My journey (kind of):
To give some background information I joined the Forum a couple of months ago now.

In the present, I am 18 years old and going on 19 soon, in my first year of college studying to be a mechanical engineer ( a dream that I'm starting to debate is mine or not ), and I live in a pretty chaotic household compared to most I would say. In the past, I was a video game, social media, and porn addict, like many teenagers nowadays. I am proud to say I am no longer a slave to those yet battle the temptations to go back into old habits every once and a while. Usually, when times get really stressful I find myself back into playing video games or mindlessly scrolling through social media. In the very near future, I want to start a social media marketing agency, start hobbies, start doing better in school, become more social, and gain discipline/self-reliance for myself. I don't want to be a burden for my parents, money-wise ( with college, food, and such ), and plan to get them out of white-collar labor and for them to enjoy their lives after all the sacrifices they have made for us.

I am not very excited to say I haven't made much progress over the months since I joined the forum. I've been on the "self-improvement grind" where I have to constantly make changes as I take on too much at the same time. Many times even been tricking myself into pursuing fake progress. Recently I started to read many other entrepreneurs' posts. It's given me inspiration as it has also opened my eyes to see that I am fed up with how my life is going. To be honest I've been doing so many wantrepreneur daydreaming that it's hard to believe I can do it sometimes. I get mad at myself for all the time I have wasted over years of just wanting instead of really working towards my dreams. My wish is that by getting more active and maybe even doing some monthly updates on my journey I will be able to actually make strides towards the dreams I am going to make a reality. But more to hold myself accountable. I've been on the " self-improvement grind" yet every time I look back I don't really feel like I've made much progress. I don't blame my family for my mess-ups but I feel like every time I'm in the household it's difficult to concentrate or complete tasks. ( These range from schoolwork to personal activities I want to complete ) Which also ties back to spreading myself too thin. I'm not sure how to set up boundaries properly. The next way I want to address this circumstance is by either staying up late or waking up extra early. However, for that, I need to work on my time management skills. mentally I'm never fully into something. I view myself as a very creative person which ends up with me spreading myself out too thin and focusing in all the wrong areas. It pairs great with the lack of time management skills. I never attack a problem head-on. I do this task and that task and never fully commit to one thing. Recently I "discovered" the Pomodoro method which I may keep posted on how that goes for me. Overall, it would be nice to see how people tackled these problems at the start of people's entrepreneurship journey. So far I haven't seen much on how to navigate the family circumstances. If anything needs to be elaborated on let me know.
