From my understanding:

• Germany requires explicit consent from recipients before sending promotional messages.
• Austria mandates a clear and easy opt-out mechanism for recipients.
• Switzerland emphasizes respecting recipient preferences and avoiding irrelevant or inappropriate emails.

Moreover, the GDPR and e-Privacy Directive play significant roles in shaping the electronic marketing and sales outreach guidelines in these countries.

IMPORTANT: I know there is a lot of grey area here, with people sending emails and cold calling and not having any problems and others deeming it totally illegal. If the email is not salesy at all, is it still a problem? If it is genuinely personalized? Is LinkedIn cold outreach legal?
