Hey,
I would be grateful for any life advice or words of wisdom, as I'm stuck on what I should do. People on this forum seem to have a lot more common sense than the average person, and the advice I've received here already has helped me a lot.
I'm 25 years old, living with my parents in a north-western suburb of London. I'm from an Indian background where family is an important part of life. I want to move out of our house and make my own way in life. I am currently working in a temp job which will end in November and have enough savings to pay for a year of rent. I get on well with my parents and have a very comfortable life at home. I'm very lucky in the sense that even though my family are not "rich", I've never had to struggle for money and I have a big extended family so that if everything goes pear shape I'll never starve or be homeless.
After speaking to older people I respect, the advice I've been given is to stay at home and save up for a few more years until I have enough money for a property of my own or to start a business. However, I just feel stuck and feel like I'm not living my life to the fullest. I believe if I did move out, I would be doing more interesting things with my life and have nobody to answer to. I understand it's not my parents holding me back, it is still me and the actions I take, and moving out wouldn't necessarily change me.
Honestly though, it's the little things such as not being able to bring a lady home, or just not having to explain to anyone when I pop out the house, that I think hold me back. However there's a part of me that feels like I'm selfish for moving out and "wasting" money when I have the chance to save it.
So my question is, is it right to live on my own and pay rent, when I have an easy option of saving money and staying with my parents. One thing that connects this to the Fastlane is that I eventually want to start a coaching business (social, lifestyle), and I believe moving out will take me a step closer to that.
Thanks for reading the long post, I would appreciate any kind of advice.
