Hi everyone,
I have thought about creating a Chrome extension for a long time bc I found the technology interesting, but I was never able to come up with any useful idea for that. During this, I faced an annoying issue while I worked on gigs to train AI models. The UI is pretty simple, but it does the job, except that for each task, the skip and submit buttons are at the very bottom of the page, even after the comment section. It's not a big deal when I pick a task and solve it bc after 10min - a couple of hours, it doesn't matter to scroll to the bottom and press the button. But when I need to pick a task, sometimes I need to skip tens of them bc I know it from the first line that I don't have the expertise for that. So then it's getting annoying to scroll a lot just to press a button. Then came the idea that it could be simplified with an extension that clicks the button when I click on the badge. I did a little search and didn't find anything similar, so I've created it for myself. After a while, I thought it could be useful for others as well, so I made it more generic and published it.
The current situation:
I published the extension almost a month ago, and it still has 8 users. (and 2 of them are me, actually ). I hoped it would be much more in a month, but at least some people use it. What makes me sadder is that it has 34 installs and 21 uninstalls. That is pretty bad, I think.
The questions:
- How could I find out why users uninstall it? I've already added an uninstall form, but got only 1 response "It is not what I expected"
- Are these bad numbers indeed, or does it just need more time?
- Where would it be beneficial to promote it? I've posted it on relevant Reddit channels and created an X.com account for that, but I can't see any relevant effect of it.
- Could it be worth the effort to push it, or consider it as a good learning opportunity?
+1 if you could give it a try and give me feedback, it would help a lot: Bottom Button Clicker
