I'm sure my name may look familiar to some of you as I'm always chasing some hair brain idea and I'm completely buried in analysis paralysis. However, there's one fact I've never said anything about on the forums.
My wife is an entrepreneur already. She has her own business, however she's in that area between fastlane and freelancer. She runs a design agency (she doesn't like me calling it that) but she has a web developer, VA, and copy writer all working for her. She is working her a$$ off but is still limited by hours in the day. She is a perfectionist and while she will pass off a lot of the other duties, she doesn't want to pass off design. I can't fault her, she is amazing at what she does.
I struggle because I would absolutely love to help her grow her business, but I'm clueless in her industry. I'm an engineer by trade, all school/training has been in HVAC engineering fields.
Her ideal clients are women entrepreneurs, most of which are part of the whole "Boss Mom" style movement. While I will say I am an extremely attractive man </sarcasm> it may be difficult to break into that type of group.
Instead of chasing all my other ridiculous ideas (chocolate balls, home HVAC service, septic tank, etc) I've thought that if I threw myself into her business we could grow it as a team.
Have any of you ever done something like that? Do you have a "family" business?
Step 1 may be to put my copy of Unscripted on her bed side table....
