It's now or never
Hello everyone, my name is "TheFero". I'm based in Australia. I'm looking for inspiration and advice from people with experience on the issue I'm going through. Any help would be appreciated!
I'm 25, it's now or never. I don't want to be filled with regret in 10 years with my career, relationships and life.
The why:
Financial freedom, time independence, enjoying the work and 'using' my brain or owning/creating something is what I would love.
Searching for possibilities can be overwhelming, the internet has so many different ideas of alternative career paths, I'm yet to see one that jumps out to me.
The only thing I've considered is copywriting. A lot of people suggest acquiring it as a skill, not a pursuing it as a career.
So here I am, I'm here asking for help and advice. I'd love to know different and unique career options that work well with my skills.
I'm not looking for shortcuts and willing to try different things, but I'm very unsure where to start.
Work experience:
Briefly; law graduate (as of 2 years ago), never practiced and worked in legal support roles at law firms for around 3 years. I've worked in the response centre of a law firm and then in an "investigation" team at a different law firm (it was really just acquiring documents and information to see if clients had injury insurance cover).
I tried to study osteopathy for a little bit, but couldn't commit to another 4 years of study, I would say I'm "interested" in health and physical therapy to some extent.
Currently I work in the helpdesk team at a software company which provides software for law firms. I really don't like this job, have been here for 6 months and likely moving to the lead gen team (cold calling) by the end of this month. I have thought of moving to sales to acquire it as a skillset and working towards that. The company I work for is really amazing but this area of Legal tech just doesn’t interest me all that much, at least not in the capacity I am working in it. I joined this company thinking it was a great option as someone who has a legal background but not pursuing a legal career.
Also currently enrolled in a short public policy course. Next subject is in June and not sure if I will continue it.
Skills, interests, other (as far as I can tell):
Hobbies:
Trying to learn to make music
Enjoy MMA training (although injured at the moment)
Reading
I'd really appreciate hearing of all of your opinions on potential career paths. I want to master something, make money and enjoy it all in the process.
I'll keep searching for an answer even if no one responds to this.
Appreciate you ,
S
(p.s, in the unlikely event you know me from the above description, hush!)
