Hi guys, I'm new to this forum, but I thought I would make a progress thread to hold myself accountable.
Little bit about me:
I'm 21 years old and I still live with my parents in Taiwan. My main source of income comes from freelance writing clients, but recently my earnings have been really - really - low. I created a few websites in the past and I have been studying how to make money online for awhile now, so I have a decent amount of knowledge, but failed to take action. It's time to change because I'm sick of my life at the moment.
My plan: sell info products through sales pages while at the same time find writing work.
It's a simple plan. Create eBooks, create a sales page, send traffic to the sales page, and see how it goes. I wrote one eBook for the self improvement niche awhile back when I was working on a self-improvement website. It was really cheesy so I ended up trashing it and the website; it wasn't what I wanted, or maybe I made a mistake, I don't know.
Right now I'm 70% done a eBook for the make money online niche. I know it's probably not the best niche to start out, still, I think it can do fine. It's about email marketing: how to build a list, how to sell products to the list, how to create products, and much more.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I will also continue to search for freelance writing clients. The idea is to look for high paying clients, like magazines. It will force me to improve my pitches and if I get a client or two, I can have more cash to invest in other projects. I created an account on oDesk but I prefer to contact clients directly through websites; it works better for me and the pay is usually higher as well.
Execution:
When the eBook is done and polished, I'll buy a domain name and create a sales page (I already have a hosting account). Then I'll set up an autoresponder and give the book away for free for a month or two to build a list and collect feedback. Next, I'll read the feedback and make changes to the book, build on it. I'll slap a price tag on the new improved version of the book. I will also include affiliate links within the book for some additional revenue. Oh, and of course, I'll create a autoresponder email sequence.
PROGRESS: (for people who don't want to scroll through the thread)
Made a product and landing page for the internet marketing industry.
Seems like that's not a good idea so scrapped that. Few members mentioned it's a dumb idea.
Thinking of a new idea. Still want to work on landing pages, though.
I'm new to creating info products so this is all uncharted territory for me. But I'm sick of screwing around and wasting time and it's about time to make some progress. I have been broke and feeling useless for the past few years. I still live with my parents so that might be one of the reasons I haven't been trying hard enough. But it's time to change and get my shit together. I'll update this every few days.
If you have any suggestions please get in touch.
