As I type this intro, I am sitting in the exact same building, same room, same chair, same clothes (I'll explain), that I was two months ago when I started reading TMF . Why is that significant? It reminds me how much I've learned in such little time.
Same chair? Yes, same exact one with missing pads on the armrests. Same clothes? Yes, Service Charlies. I am back on duty for a 24 hour post for the first time since I got my wake up call while reading TMF .
Yep I'm stuck in the slowlane (more like the bicycle lane - no matter how hard I pedal, I will only earn as much as the military will let me). And I still have over 2 years left on my 5 year contract.
The bad news is I'm pretty much hogtied to this lane with very limited growth and VERY limited freedom.
The good news is that I'm only 21 and can use this time with a guaranteed paycheck and education benefits to my advantage.
Since my last 24 hour post two months ago, I have been glued to this forum and exploring every source of knowledge on creating my own fastlane venture. So far I have come up with a number of ideas and I have been training my eye to start recognizing needs.
My motivation at the moment is proving for my little growing family (my wife is due in August).
The goal that I'm shooting for is to have something (or multiple things) creating enough income to continue our lifestyle as a family with one E-4 paycheck (~$3600/mo) whenever we move back home after my contract is up. I know this goal may be small in some eyes, but this is where I NEED to be in the near future. Where I WANT to be, and what I'm aiming for, is obviously total financial freedom.
As far as progress goes, I have installed a local server to run a WordPress site without having a live domain so that I can learn how it works and get used to building sites with it for free. Most of what I'm interested in doing has to do with websites or would end up needing one, so I figured I might as well learn it. I have also done a lot of research on ways to build and launch a physical product that is just waiting to jump out of my head and leap onto the shelves.
So here I am squirming my way through the crowd to join the front ranks with other leaders, inventors, producers, and Fastlaners. I will admit that my faults are centered around staying in research mode and not taking action. I recognize this and realize that there is nothing I can say to convince you that I am working on these faults. I feel like there are plenty of people on here that join, post an intro with a derivative of "I'm going to take action" at the end, then disappear into the abyss of the slowlane. That's not what I'm here to do. I'm here for me. I'm here for my family. I'm here for the process of achieving freedom.
