James from Australia here. I just finished reading MJ's book and I am now a new man on a new mission.
It usually takes me two to four weeks to finish reading a single book, but I finished reading The Millionaire Fastlane, watched pretty much all of MJ's YouTube stuff, started following him on Twitter and signed up to this forum - all within two days. (And no, I am not usually a stalker)
Definitely the best book I have ever read!
I feel as though nearly everything else I have read, learnt and adopted into my life is a useless waste of crap and my time.
After having a failed business a few years ago which left me penny-less, stressed and blaming others for my losses, I started to delve into self-help / personal development books that changed my view on life.
I lost two houses (one was my mother's), two cars, two franchised shops and a bunch of cash.
Now I couldn’t give a rat's dick about my past failures and have truly accepted the fact that no one was to blame but me, and I am actually glad that it happened because I probably wouldn’t know what I know today.
I would most probably still be working in that silly 9 to 5 job I purchased and called it my business, and hating the fact that I had to do what I didn’t really like doing, for pretty much – peanuts.
In the past 12 months I have taught myself web design and development using Google and I am now about to launch my web design business.
The Millionaire Fastlane has made me think now – Is that what I want to be doing??
Is selling my web design services going to get me onto the 'Fastlane' route?
No. Not at all.
However, I am still going to launch my web design business to create some temporary 'slowlane' cash flow, but I now understand that my newly found creative web design skills will need to be utilized in other ways to create some serious cash flow and plan for an exit as MJ explains in his book.
It's amazing how our minds are 'conditioned' to think a certain way which leads us down a path of mediocrity, or even worse, poverty. But the reality is that shifting your beliefs and thoughts can cause a dramatic change in your life instantly.
I have found that positive self-talk can help you overcome all of those little voices in your head saying: "I can't, it's too hard, I don’t know how, bla bla bla".
Nothing is impossible and you can do anything if you really want to.
The first step is to believe that you can!
