Hey everyone,
I actually just quit my job in corporate America. I was an auditor for a Big Four public accounting firm for almost 4 years and I just couldn't take it anymore. So many people that believe climbing the corporate ladder is everything life should be.
I currently have multiple businesses going and I am really excited to be devoting 100% of my time to entrepreneurship now. Below are my current business ventures.
-An invention for nightclubs that I will be exhibiting at the trade show in Las vegas in March 2014. The invention is something I came up with about a year ago and was able to secure a good manufacturer for in China. I have had trouble getting it marketed properly and I think the trade show will really help with this.
-An online fitness business focused on beginners and one body part per website, which will result in less clutter and easier to find content. Fitness is one of my biggest passions and it is a huge industry with very few major leaders in the industry for how much revenue is in this industry, so despite the fact that fitness programs and companies are everywhere, my main competitor will be BodyBuilding.com, but I also see them as a site who can help me, since my site is very different from theirs and will not have all of the same types of things.
-Writing eBooks. I wrote one for my fitness company to give me a point of authority and I am writing another one on corporate America, why it is flawed, and the entrepreneurial solution.
-I just recently launched a podcast called 5 Months to Freedom, since when I quit my job I only had enough money to last me 5 months. The weekly podcast follows my journey into entrepreneurship, as well as what is working and what is not working for me, as I go through it. The podcast is available on iTunes or my website, which is 5monthstofreedom.com.
I am really just trying to provide value to people right now and my focus will shift to monetization once I believe I am accomplishing the first goal. I do not want to make money online by just putting garbage out there, so I am really trying to build content that is useful to people and can potentially change their lives. One thing I would definitely love some feedback on is ideas on marketing my new podcast. I was going to hire a VA to find relevant blogs/forums and I would write some solid content for them, with a link to my podcast, which is free. Other than that, I am relying on a lot of word of mouth marketing.
Thanks so much for any ideas and I look forward to becoming a millionaire!
