I live in the SF bay area in cali, married with 4 kids in the house, debt free, have a really good job....making "ok" money, plus I have a music gig on the side and I'm at a crossroads.
Besides my job and the music gig, I really dont like the bay area or california in general, and I am using all my time working my jobs instead of going after my own dreams. I want to quit my jobs and move to Texas. I know that I can get another music gig pretty quick there, plus we get another supplimental income from another source. We would be living a pretty thin lifestyle if we went there (without me getting another day job), but we could swing it.
I guess im feeling a little like the baby bird that knows he can fly, but is afraid to jump out of the nest. I think the biggest issue is that I have a wife and four kids depending on me. If it was just me, it would be a different story. I built a hot dog cart that Im pretty sure I could make some money from, and i have a few ideas brewing in my head, but my time is stretched so far with all my jobs that i cant concentrate on my ideas.
Anyone been here before? If you have, or if you have any advice that could help me with my dilema, please comment. If you think this whole "quit my jobs and move to texas" thing is a dumb idea, thats ok too. Thanks.
