It's 3am and I'm too pumped up so I feel like starting a progress thread.
In my last adventure (almost 2 years ago to the day, WOW time flies) I set a goal of turning $0 into $10,000. After many setbacks and highs and lows I eventually blew that goal out of the water. That thread, which you can view here: https://www.thefastlaneforum.com/co...s-guide-to-buying-and-selling-anything.35889/, is currently the 4th most popular on this whole forum by view count.
Anyway, quick bio of who I am otherwise;
21 years old, male, university student, Canadian. After quitting my old dead end job in mid-summer, I'm now in a rather unique position in that I received multiple raises in the past 6 months and I now run the business that employs me. Rather than quit my job and go all cavalier I've decided that I'm going to keep my job for the time being. The caveat, and it's a BIG one, is that starting today, 3:33am December 14th, 2013, I can't use any of the money earned from that job to pay for my living expenses. ZERO, ZILCH, NADA.
100% of all income earned via my job will be used to create independent forms of income, be it a business, investments, etc. I'm in a good position so why not leverage it for all it's worth.
As it stands I have a side hustle that currently covers all of my fixed living expenses. (Rent, Transportation, and Cell Phone). After those are all deducted I have about $25 to use on everything else.. this includes food haha. $25 won't go far, so therein lies the goal. I will have to eat what I kill. Not literally of course, but if I don't want to go hungry, if I want to wear clothing and have some kind of a life (an extraordinary one), I'm going to have to get creative and EARN it.
If I don't perform, if I don't innovate or think outside of the box I will suffer.
I will quit my job sometime in 2014. By January 1st, 2015 (age 22) I will quit no matter what.. but why not do it sooner... So I need to get busy and figure it out.
I have an appointment to set up a separate bank account with a different bank so that my job income and my expenses do not mix.
The title of this thread is in homage to James Altucher. http://www.jamesaltucher.com/2011/07/life-tastes-best-when-you-eat-what-you-kill/
Because I'm in complete control of the amount of days/hours that I work I will be gradually reducing my commitment to my job (owner is aware). I currently work 6 days a week.
I have a decent plan of action to take that first step forward. Will be ordering product very soon, within the next week.
Cheers
