I am looking for a partner who has a good knowledge of HTML and CSS / PHP.
I’d prefer someone who knows PHP, because i usually hire someone for the design.
The developing of a website requires constant improving because you never know when an unnoticed error may be abused by our visitors and if that happens i’ll need a developer to fix it as quick as possible. Through some reading and a little experience of my own, I know that a new website will need fixing all the time because there will be problems you haven’t thought of.
So that’s why I need a developer by my side.
Why aren’t i hiring someone, you might be asking? Because i’m on a really tight budget and i can’t afford to pay a developer for every single mistake that needs to be fixed.
But before we get to the maintaining part of the website, I still need something to be developed.
I will need someone to implement a social networking feature to my website that is supposed to make the visitor’s stay more enjoyable.
If it’s REALLY necessary, i can perhaps try to get some money to pay you at least something for the developing.
I could ask a freelancer to develop it for me, but all these guys are only interested in developing it and receiving the money. They’re not interested in anything else such as working with me and sharing the profits.
That’s why i’m here, hoping that some entrepreneurial minded person can help me and see that there’s a possibility to make some money here.
Let me tell you about my previous experience with this, so those who are not familiar with this can picture what it’s like to run a website. I managed to get 75% ownership of a website that was worth around $5000. (Well, not sure what it was worth, but it costed about $4000 to $5000 to build it.) We even made a contract and we both signed it. I felt really good about it, especially since I didn’t spend a dime to get 75% of $5000 , but once I started i faced some problems such as changing the design, adding/removing features , etc… I decided to postpone the project and get as much money as possible so i could hire a developer and designer. So after about a month went by without a single change to the website, the “owner†took the website offline. I asked the hosting service what happened and they told me the owner of the domain name told them to shut the website down until he changes his mind. I guess it was my fault for not transferring the domain onto my name earlier. But i believe the major problem was the fact I didn’t have a developer I could rely on. Besides, the website was too big and advanced for me back then, it was like winning the lottery. I’ve would’ve lost it as fast as i got it anyway.
I’ll tell you something about myself to avoid any future misunderstandings (and also because I like to talk about myself once in a while, but who doesn’t ? )
I’m a young motivated entrepreneur and my goal in life is to be successful.
It started with a simple daydream of me being successful and wealthy, but this dream has been stuck in my mind for about 1 and a half year. I’m almost 17 years old now and it has been in my mind every single day, for the past 1 and a half year.
Why am i telling you all this? Couldn’t i just state what i want in a few sentences?
I wrote this whole thing as detailed as possible to show everyone who’s interested that i’m not just some kid who’s just dreaming of having a big house and nice cars, i want those dreams to come true, i’m serious about this, i’m willing to dedicate all my free time into this. I’m willing to quit school if that’s what it takes. I haven’t spoken to most of my friends in about a month. I want it to keep it that way because i want to spend all my time into business. But it’s not possible right now because i’m stuck. The fact that I’m currently not making any progress is stressing me. It’s bad for me, especially mentally. It’s slowly putting me back in my old habits, which was being lazy and playing games all day long.
So after writing this, i’ll have to ask the question i intended to ask in the first place, but I got drifted away.
Is anyone interested in this?
