Hey guys, glad to finally join the forums and looking forward to getting to know you guys. MJ, great book. It was inspirational and it clued me into the reality of startups and businesses.
I started learning RoR about 3 months ago and just completed a prototype of my website. It is a simple travel planner that allows you and your friends to get together and collaborate on your next vacation. I've also added deals from Groupon and Goldstar as I plan on making money through sales.
I did not learn about marketing/SEO until recently and now I have to figure out how to make some sales. I also realize I put myself in a pretty difficult situation trying to enter the highly-competitive travel industry. My plan is to write a lot of travel articles for my site to bring in traffic and funnel it to the sales page.
My questions:
1. Is my site considered an aggregate deals site? (I ask this because some affiliate programs will not accept aggregate sites)
2. Will writing articles with keywords simply draw traffic or is there some other aspect that I should look into?
